BK8 Explained: Who Runs BK8.io and What the Name Means

BK8 is an online betting and casino brand whose current platform, BK8.io, is a crypto casino and sportsbook run by Mettlemind Tech Ltd. under a licence from the Autonomous Island of Anjouan. Most people in Britain know the name only from a football shirt or a racing livery, and the platform itself is closed to players in the United Kingdom.

Illustrated overview card showing the three BK8 names: BK8 the brand, BK8.io the crypto casino and BK8 News the sports media name

This site exists because searching for the name returns a crowd of copycat pages, several of them pretending to be the real thing. We set out what can be checked about BK8 (who operates it, what it is licensed for, where it sponsors) and we say plainly what could not be confirmed. Every claim on this page is tied to a source listed at the bottom.

Why the name is familiar but the company is not

BK8 bought a lot of visibility in British sport without ever trading here. In June 2023 Aston Villa announced BK8 as its principal and front-of-shirt partner, so for the 2023/24 Premier League season the logo was on every Villa shirt on television. Before that, the brand had training-wear and LED-board deals with Burnley, a sponsorship with Crystal Palace that the club described as an "Official Asian Betting Sponsor" arrangement, and a betting partnership with Huddersfield Town.

That pattern explains the confusion. The shirt deals were aimed at viewers watching English football from abroad, where BK8 has its customers. People in Britain saw the logo but could never open an account, so there was no reason for anyone to explain the company to them. That gap is where clone sites now sit.

Our dated history of BK8's sponsorships lists every deal we could confirm with at least one official or two independent sources, along with the season each one covered and whether it has ended.

BK8, BK8.io and BK8 News: three names, one family

Much of the muddle in search results comes from three related names being used interchangeably.

  • BK8 is the brand itself, used on sponsorship boards and shirts since at least 2021.
  • BK8.io is the crypto casino and sportsbook that BK8 announced on 18 August 2025 through a GlobeNewswire release. The release described it as BK8's entry into the crypto casino space.
  • BK8 News is the sports news and entertainment name that has fronted the newer sponsorships: title sponsor of the Gresini Racing MotoGP team from 2025, presenting partner of the BWF Thomas and Uber Cup Finals in 2026, and a Global Partner of the Aston Martin Aramco Formula One team from October 2026.

If you saw "BK8 News" on a Ducati at Silverstone and wondered whether it was a newspaper, our guide on what BK8 News actually is walks through each sponsorship and what the name stands for.

What BK8.io offers, according to its own pages

We describe the product only as BK8.io presents it, without testing it, because the platform is not open to visitors from the United Kingdom. Its pages list:

  • Deposits and withdrawals in Bitcoin, Tether (USDT), Ether and Litecoin.
  • Casino sections for slots, table games, live dealer tables, live game shows and fast games.
  • A set of in-house "BK8.io Originals", including crash, Plinko, dice and Hilo-style games, which the site describes as provably fair.
  • Game studios named on the site, including Pragmatic Play, Playtech, NextSpin, Spade Gaming, Asia Gaming and BGaming.
  • A sportsbook, plus pages for promotions, a VIP club and an affiliate programme.

We do not quote bonus amounts, game counts or payout figures. They change often, and we would rather leave them out than print a number that is out of date by the time you read it.

What we could not confirm

Reading bk8.io closely turned up two things you should know about:

  • A long block of explanatory text on the bk8.io home page says the platform is "licensed and regulated by the Government of Curaçao". The footer of every page, and the validation seal it links to, give the Anjouan licence instead. We treat the footer and the regulator's seal as the authoritative record and the Curaçao wording as out of date.
  • The footer also shows a large "users trust us" counter. There is no independent way to verify that figure, so we do not repeat it as fact.

Neither point proves anything is wrong. They are simply the details a careful reader should weigh, and the kind most brand pages leave out.

Can people in Britain use BK8.io?

No. When we visited bk8.io on 4 November 2026, the platform's own region notice listed the United Kingdom among the places where it is unavailable. The same list includes the United States, Australia, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands, among others. Any page claiming to offer British players a BK8 account, a sign-up bonus or a "UK login" is not speaking for the operator. Our explainer on why BK8.io is closed to UK players covers the licensing rules behind that.

How to tell the real site from a copy

The genuine platform lives at bk8.io. Lookalike domains add hyphens, extra words or country codes, copy the layout, and then ask for a deposit to a wallet address or a "verification fee". Our step-by-step check for fake BK8 sites shows how to confirm the licence seal with the Anjouan regulator yourself, in under a minute.

18+ only. Gambling should stay a paid-for pastime, not a way to make money. If you live in Britain and want to block gambling sites, GamStop covers operators licensed by the Gambling Commission, and free blocking software covers sites like BK8.io that GamStop does not reach. Our safer gambling page lists both.

Questions people ask

Who owns BK8.io?

BK8.io's own footer names Mettlemind Tech Ltd. (registration number 15779, registered in Mutsamudu on the Autonomous Island of Anjouan, Union of Comoros) as the operator. No other parent company is named on the site, so we do not name one here.

Is BK8 a licensed casino?

BK8.io publishes an Anjouan gaming licence, number ALSI-202504032-FI2, and links a validation seal hosted by the Anjouan licensing body. It does not hold a licence from the Gambling Commission of Great Britain.

Can I play at BK8.io from the United Kingdom?

No. BK8.io lists the United Kingdom among the regions where the platform is not available, alongside the United States, Australia, Ireland and several EU countries, and it asks visitors using a VPN to switch it off.

Why have I seen BK8 on football shirts and racing cars?

BK8 has spent heavily on sports sponsorship: Aston Villa's shirt in 2023/24, deals with Burnley, Crystal Palace and Huddersfield Town, five LaLiga clubs in 2021/22, the Gresini Racing MotoGP team, BWF badminton events and, from October 2026, Aston Martin Aramco in Formula One under the BK8 News name.

Is BK8 News the same as BK8.io?

They share the BK8 name but do different jobs. BK8.io is the gambling platform; BK8 News is the sports news and entertainment name that appears in recent sponsorships and runs the bk8.news site.
